Volunteers

All you need to become a volunteer at Haitian Mission Par La Foi, inc is a heart of service, Haitian Mission Par La Foi, inc volunteers are hope builders.

  1. Volunteers work in the HMPLF’s orphanage and school teaching English, painting, craft and games etc.. to our kids. This work is done during your HMPLF trip.
  2. Volunteers also work from homeland, at the office, at home talking to their friends and family about Haitian Mission Par La Foi, inc inviting them to meet our kids, to support our works the way they can, and also publishing our website on facebook, twitter etc…
  3. As a volunteer, you can play a crucial role in helping us build a bright future for our Haitian children, campaign for hope and fundraise for education, so that together we can improve literacy rate in our Haiti.
  4. You can also be a volunteer by sharing your ideas, experience with us by email info@saveourhaiti.org and tell us what you would like to be changed etc…

It is quite simple, with just a click. We offer you such a variety of short-term mission trips, like adult mission trips, family mission trips, youth mission trips, and college mission trips, including your own dates and team trips.

What will I do on a HMPLF Trip?

In Haiti when you wave your hand to someone, what you get back is a bright smiling face, come and see for yourself. HMPLF Trips are typically a week in length. Unlike traditional missions or work trips, HMPLF Trips are designed to be observational, allowing you to share with our 24 kids, and meet the Haitian people and its culture, our work, and also to visit at least one of the Haiti’s most-visited tourist attractions. We hope that seeing this transformational work in action will compel you to partner with HMPLF in a deeper way.

How do I pay for my trip?

You can pay for your trip a few different ways. You are welcome to pay for your trip expenses by clicking on register now; over the phone by calling (727) 543-0867, or by mailing cash or check to 2227 22th street south St Petersburg, FL 33712.

If you would like to raise funds to cover the cost of your trip, you can send individual checks or cash to the HMPLF office (address above). Please include a note or memo identifying your name and which trip you plan to attend. You can also direct others to make a payment in support of your trip via: info@saveourhaiti.org

What does my trip fee cover?

Your trip fee will cover the costs of all in-country accommodations, such as transportation, lodging, meals, and a visit to one of our most-visited tourist attractions, translation, and a program donation. Your fee does not cover the cost of your airfare or any required travel documents.

What airport will I fly into?

The airport you will fly into is Port au Prince, HT (PAP). Please contact our Trips coordinator Miss Marlene Berthelot by email: info@saveourhaiti.org

Do I need to arrange pickup from the airport, transportation, or lodging?

HMPLF will arrange all of your in-country logistics, including your pickup and drop-off at the airport. Specific details for your trip will be communicated in the pre-trip conference call scheduled the week prior to your trip.

Do I need a passport or tourist visa?

All countries of travel require a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date you will return to your country. To apply for or renew your USA passport, please visit http://travel.state.gov, or for urgent requests with additional fees, www.traveldocs.com. You do not need a visa to travel to Haiti.

Can I extend my trip for personal travel?

You are welcome to extend your trip either on the front or back end of the HMPLF Trip for personal travel. The Trips coordinator will work with you to arrange your flights.

What do I need to bring?

We suggest that you bring bug repellant, sunscreen, a lightweight rain jacket, a camera, as for our location near Valou Beach, please bring your beach clothes. If possible, we also suggest packing only a carry-on for ease of travel.

How much money should I bring?

You will not need to cover any expenses during your trip, if you would like to bring money for souvenirs or purchasing something small from a place, we suggest $20-$60. HMPLF staff will help you exchange your money and get the best rate.

Can children attend HMPLF Trips?

Our HMPLF Trips are designed for all ages, although time in the field will be spent standing and walking over rough terrain. It is also very hot in Haiti, as Haiti is a tropical country.

Haitian Mission Par La Foi, inc relies on the support of people like you. There are so many ways to help, from donating online to talk to your family about the HMPLF trip or to become a Good will ambassador.

What a Good will ambassador does?

Our good will ambassadors play a critical role in helping us, when you become a Good will ambassador you automatically become part of the project, a hope builder. A Good Will ambassador enjoy a unique relationship with Haitian Mission Par La Foi, inc and receive invitations to exclusive such as the HMPLF’s Executive Briefing and can be mandated to organized groups, events and fundraising activities.
